Ana Carey: A Journey of Artistic Passion and Community Engagement

Hailing from Blackhorse Avenue in Dublin 7, Ana Carey is a multifaceted artist with interests spanning sculpture, painting, photography, mixed media, and drawings. Her love for sculpture was kindled at a young age, inspired by watching her mother Mary work with clay. This early exposure to the world of art set the stage for Ana's future endeavors.

After some time in the workforce, Ana reignited her artistic aspirations by returning to school. She embarked on an enriching journey at Marino College's Five Lamps campus, studying a diverse range of art subjects over two years. Reflecting on her experience, Ana stated, "My best education in art was while I studied at Marino College Dublin 2."

Ana's thirst for knowledge led her to pursue a degree in Sculpture and Combined Media at the Limerick School of Art and Design, earning an honors BA. During her time in Dublin and Limerick, Ana participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, solidifying her reputation as a talented and dedicated artist.

In a bold move to bring her art closer to the community, Ana opened the Ana Carey Gallery at the International Bar, located at 23 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2. Launched as a pop-up on October 9th, 2021, this space offers Ana the flexibility to exhibit her work and welcome guest artists for solo or group shows.
